“Brain on” voters…
The greatly publicized “School Voucher program” has been defeated by the voice of the people… Thank goodness!!!
I’ve listened to hours of debate on this topic and even though I don’t have the right to vote, I wanted to get educated. Looking back I’d have to say that I heard mostly from those who wanted the voucher program to be voted in. However I was stuck on one fundamental issue which I couldn’t swallow, being government power (or allowing government the ability to dictate a future requirement to private schools).
The funny thing is, before I had read Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead, I’d of probably voted for vouchers – meaning power to the people, or choice. But, at least for me, the less the government is involved the better.
That might sound strange from somebody who works for the federal government! but I believe it 100%.
You see if this voucher program passed, I wonder how many government jobs would have been created and with what salaries… which in turn we as tax payers would be left with a greater tax burden!
Just what we don’t need – more government… Good Job “Brain on” Utahns.
