“The Network”
You’ve seen the commercials, heard the slogan “Can you here me now”… What a great way to relate that to your family network! At church somebody mentioned this in their testimony (yes I’m LDS) and my mind started to dig into this metaphor.
If your ‘network’ (or extended family) is like the commercial network, then you have an awesome family! My mind flipped to the television ads where they show their competitors network, who use old technology and whose numbers are few and far between! Then it hit me – that is my family!
Digging deeper, I’ve come up with the following similes:
No Coverage = Family feuds
Dropped Call = No longer interesed in what you have to say!
Busy signal = I’m doing something better with my life!
911 service area only = Only care if your dying!
411 information = the gossiper in your family – yes – you know the one!
Party line = the local family cliques!
