Book Completed: The Fountainhead
A record breaking 43 days to finish this one! I was determined to beat my 6 month yard stick of my last read! The Fountainhead was a very enjoyable read which puledl me in deeper than Atlas Shrugged. I think that was due to my interest in Architecture and the fact that I too was hoping to become a Howard Roark oneday!
In a sense I can draw a line between Howard and myself, we both drew plans which got shot down. Howard’s mainly from a collective of socialists and mine from my so called best friends! (who were probably socialists anyway) But that’s another story!
The Dominique character just blew my mind! I battled with myself to understand her logic and why she would react to people in her own unique way.
Howard’s testimony at his trial is the highlight or the climax of this novel. Such a testimony also reflects Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism or how life should be lived in her perspective. It’s an interesting stance which rings true with the Producer Mindset.
I’m now looking forward to watching the movie on this one. Maybe then I’ll understand Dominique!
