Chocolate Factory does it again.

I remember being a young boy and having the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory read to me at Broomhill Junior School. I reveled in thinking about the magical rooms and how the candy would taste which Mr Willy Wonka was inventing. You can imagine my delight when they released the 1st Charlie and the Chocolate factory movie which Gene Wilder.
My good friend Jim Sowter got us started on reading some of  Roald Dahl best books and I think I’ve enjoyed reading them again as much as my Scott and Toby.
So when Jonny Depp started in the new release as Mr Wonka, we just had to go.

I took 1/2 the day off on opening day and took Scott and Toby to see this great remake. Jonny Depp added his own style to Mr Wonka (which was great). The movie had a wonderful storyline (even though they added to the original book (which I have no problem with)). The only thing which didn’t sit right with me was the oompa loompas. It was the same guy and I had a hard time understanding what they were singing. Jonny Depp didn’t take on any singing, but the flashbacks to his childhood made it a great family based movie.

I’m giving this remake 2 thumbs up. Great for the kids and great for you if you’re a Roald Dahl fan.
