The Amazing Adventures of Chilly Billy
I remembered the other day a book with fasinated me as a young boy of 8 years of age. I can remember to this day the way my Teacher (Mr. Hull) read this book to us. Mr Hull was not a teacher you would mess around with. He was a medium height, red faced, fat teacher but he was also the coach of the 8-12 year old soccer team. I was scared of this guy because of my brother (David) telling me tales about him, but in the end I loved this guy. Anyway – I can remember this book by Peter Mayle about a little guy who sits in your fridge and turns the light on and off for you. I went home and tried to catch Chilly Billy in my parents fridge! What a delightful book which I’m trying to find at the moment to read to my boys. Peter Mayle also went on to write another book called “Footprints in the Butter” I can’t remember if Mr Hull read that one to us or not, but I’m on the hunt for that book too.
