Multi Court Christmas Party.
We just had our yearly court party (Bankruptcy, District and Probation courts) with over 200 people in attendance. It was a fun party especially since I was involved pretty heavily as a committee member.
Most of my time was spent up in the audio/visual box controlling lights, music, slideshow presentations and videos. What made it more fun for me was seeing my creations on the BIG screen. We hired the Black Box room at the Rose Wagner performing arts center (WOW what a cool building), and this room had an enormous widescreen (for movies). I used it to show a 800 picture slideshow, falling snow, words to carols, a credits section and a video (which I captured from a 1993 court video).
I used Macromedia’s Flash MX 2004 Pro to help me author all my presentations and it worked a treat. It helped me fall more in love with Flash and I could see a possible side job emerging from creating the slideshows.
I was also excited to be apart of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ work and I left my name and number for the Rose Wagner staff to call me back sometime when they don’t mind me looking over their shoulders, to see how a production works from the control room.
But all in all it was a wonderful party.
