Christmas Lights

Why, Why, why!! especially on the outside of your home! I was fixing our roof (we had about 25 missing shingles) and then started work puttiing up some cool Christmas lights. Kristy bought red and green icicle lights and I was pretty excited to get them up. It was getting pretty late when I finally got around to putting them up (since I tried doing this on Thanksgiving day!). It started to rain and I was determined to get them done. Now these lights can either blink or be solid. I thought the blinking effect was cool and finally got all the strands to blinks pretty much at the same rate (about 3 blinks per second). I dismounted the roof to adore my hard work and immediately felt sick! This pulsing motion had more of an effect than simple holiday cheer! I had found the ultimate tool to deal with annoying neighbours! I made up some excuse that it would cause the kids to have fits and quickly turned them on to solid! Phew! sickness gone!
But now – I still have a problem. I had linked about 6 strands together and blown a fuse! Nice one Ian – now I’ve got to remount the roof and search for a tiny blown fuse! I’m going to attempt that on Saturday during the day so (hopefully) I can spot the culprit! Wish me luck!

So much for these new cool lights! We had received about a foot of snow and now the lights won’t work at all! Not even 1 strip!! I think their outdoor status needs to be revoked! Looks like I’ll be getting friendly with my roof again. But not until the snow has all melted (which’ll probably be in the new year now!)

Yeee Haaa – I got them to work. I was changing oil Saturday and tried to listen to the radio in the garage – Hmm – not working – I wonder why! I looked at the socket and it had tripped! As soon as I pushed it – on came the radio and external Christmas lights. A HA !!! I still haven’t told Kristy how easy of a fix it was! Scott was asking me what I did and I made it sound like a huge task… Haa Haaa – Whoops !! Should’of checked that one! Ah well – it’s much better than having no Christmas lights. So they might blow again – but I know it’s a push of a button away :)

Now the season is over I can’t wait to ‘rip’ these lights down. I was able to secure some new lights (about 200ft) of larger bulb lights which will result in a better glow and a cheaper light. (Since I got 10 packs for 75% off the original price! – thanks to after season shopping discounts!!).
